Super[]
Once they have filled their meter by blocking seven hits, they can deploy a shield that absorbs one hit. While the shield is deployed, Subject 11 cannot block attacks.
Activating the shield resets Subject 11's frame data, potentially allowing for combo extensions.
Strategy[]
Subject 11 is Pocket Rumble’s grappler, and as such specializes in grabbing. Ironically, however, their actual grabs are extremely underwhelming compared to their 3B, which has the same range but double the damage (minus the backward throw sending the foe behind you for when that’s useful). The key to playing as them is to ensure there isn’t distance between them and the opponent, so it’s important to use mixups of jumps, their signature crawl, and even the surprisingly useful 5B in order to get close.
Their meter fills up each time they successfully block a hit, with the ability to summon a shield that blocks one hit with seven charges. While potentially very useful for getting in close easily, taking a hit with no repercussions, and then landing a free 3B, it’s in fact rather underwhelming, taking a long time to get to and use and not fully blocking any multi hit attack, and is therefore simply a nice thing to have after a little bit of play and not something that should be actively worked toward.
As a grappler, they naturally struggle against zoning tactics, like June, or high movement and escapability like that of Quinn.
